Marianne and Margaret are individuals who dedicated themselves to serving Hansen's disease patients on Sorokdo in Goheung for over 43 years, practicing a spirit of sharing and service through nursing care, operating an infant home, providing settlement support, and constructing a tuberculosis ward. Goheung County has established a volunteer award on the occasion of the two sisters' Nobel Peace Prize nomination, with the aim of carrying on their noble spirit.
