[2025. 09. 14] Goheung Blue Marine Cycling Event 2025-09-14

Goheung County (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that the '2025 Goheung Blue Marine Bicycle Tour,' held on the 14th, concluded successfully with over 400 participants from various regions across the country, including Gyeonggi Province and the metropolitan area.

This event was colorfully organized to allow participants to enjoy a bicycle tour along with experiencing local specialties and culture, such as yuzu, against the backdrop of Goheung's pristine coastline and beautiful natural environment. Notably, many tourists from outside regions such as Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Chungcheong participated, directly experiencing the charm of Goheung.

Participants completed a course of approximately 60 km, starting from the Marianne & Margaret Training Center, passing through Sorok Bridge, Geogeum Bridge, and the southern and northern coastal roads of Geogeum Island, and returning to the training center. Those who completed the stamp rally at six points along the course, including Geogeum Rest Area, Geumui Poetry Park, and Kim Il Memorial Gymnasium, received commemorative badges along with Goheung specialties such as yuzu juice, pomegranate juice, and seaweed, which were met with great enthusiasm.

Additionally, yuzu ramen and yuzu ade were provided, allowing participants to relieve their riding fatigue while enjoying the taste of Goheung. Various programs, including a stamp event linked with local cafes and a Goheung tourism social network service (SNS) subscription event, further heightened the excitement on site.

A participant from Seoul expressed, "I was able to fully appreciate the beauty of Goheung while riding along the coastal roads harmonized with the blue sea, and I newly confirmed its charm as a bicycle travel destination."

An official from the county's tourism policy office stated, "We will continue to strive to enhance the local economy and strengthen the foundation for stay-type tourism so that visitors can experience the various charms of Goheung, using this event as a stepping stone."

Meanwhile, Goheung County plans to create an 'attractive tourist city that people want to visit again' by 2030, aiming to attract 10 million tourists through the development of differentiated tourism programs utilizing regional specialized resources such as aerospace, marine, and wellness, and the expansion of tourism convenience facilities.
