Marianne & Margaret

From October 31 to November 1, 68 artists visited the Sharing Training Center for the Goheung-gun Urban Sketch Voluntour program titled 'Goheung-gun Scenery Becomes Art'.

The term ‘Voluntour’ is a combination of Volunteer and Tour, referring to a program where participants enjoy travel while simultaneously engaging in volunteer activities that benefit the local community.

The 68 artists captured the landscapes of the Goheung-gun area and Sorokdo through urban sketches. Notably, the beautiful spots on the island, such as Sorokdo's Central Park, the museum, the Marianne and Margaret residence, Sorok Bridge, and the Marianne and Margaret Memorial Park, were depicted in their artwork, which was truly moving.

Among these sketches, the residence of Marianne and Margaret will be framed and presented to Marianne and Margaret's family during a visit to Austria in November.

Through this Voluntour, participants experienced the history and beauty of Sorokdo and spent meaningful time engaging in activities such as cleaning up trash along the Sorokdo coast.

In the evening, they returned to the training center to conduct a workshop, concluding the day's schedule.

After breakfast on the second day, they left the training center to proceed with the next program, thus concluding the 1-night, 2-day schedule at the Sharing Training Center.
